Youth Sunday School

Sundays, 9:45-10:40 am

September-June
We enjoy lively discussions on a variety of faith-related topics each Sunday.

 

Youth Fellowship

Sundays, 5:30-7:15 pm (day/time can vary due to activities)

Year-Round
Our youth fellowship program includes opportunities for learning, fellowship, service, and worship.

 

Youth Bible Studies

Various books and themes of the Bible are studied. Often meets at a local restaurant and is open to all.
 

Youth and Service

We participate in a variety of community service projects throughout the year, including:

-Rise Against Hunger
-Leaf Raking
-Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
-Meals on Wheels

-CROP Walk
-Souper Bowl of Caring

Throughout the year we enjoy fun activities, including:
-Trips to Celebration Station

-Miniature Golf

-Lock-ins
-Trips to Carowinds
-Rafting at the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte

 

Summer Mission Mania

Each summer 6th-12th graders come together for a week of service in our local community.
 
 

Middle School Conference at Massanetta Springs, VA

No summer would be complete without a trip to the conference at Massanetta! We join with 6th-8th graders from all over the region for Bible study, music, games, and fun.
 
 

High School Youth Mission Trips

Each summer 9th-12th graders travel on a mission trip. Some years we stay inside the state of NC, some years we travel inside the US, and some years we travel internationally. We have served as the hands and feet of Christ in:
Lee County, AL
Across North Carolina going from “Murphy to Manteo” and from “Waynesville to Wilmington” Reynosa, Mexico
New York City
Atlanta, Georgia
St. Mary Parish, Jamaica
 

High School Summer Camp at Montreat Conference Center

Each summer we enjoy a week of fun, fellowship, Bible study & spiritual growth at Montreat NC.
 
 

Youth and Worship

Each spring the middle school and high school youth plan and lead the entire congregation in worship. Middle School youth also participate in a puppet ministry during worship through the year. During Advent, youth share the gospel message using a liturgical movement and music program called “Joy Stix.”
 
 

Confirmation Class

In the Presbyterian tradition, youth participate in an intensive time of study and reflection as they prepare to make their profession of faith and become full and active members of the church. Our confirmation class takes place every 2-3 years.
